As a dietitian who has spent a great deal of time on this topic with clients, there are two things I know to be true when it comes to hydration.

#1 You can have a great overall diet, and still suck at hydrating well (that’s me, but I’m working on it!)

Sports science tells us that, on average, one litre of sweat contains around 1,000 mg of sodium and lesser amounts of other electrolytes like potassium and magnesium.
